Munich blog post by Riley and Campbell
Yesterday we had a sleep in until 8am, which was much appreciated by all of us. Then we walked just down the street to a bakery for brekkie. Then we got on a train into the city centre and we met our tour guides who showed us around the city for 2 hours and gave us odd, however entertaining activities to do (such as acting out certain points of Munich's history). We split into four groups and had to discover small points of interest in each place we went to. It was below zero all day and the cold was absolutely terrible to the point we had to seek shelter in the tourist information building.
After the tour we went to a bavarian themed restaurant for lunch (the waiters and waitresses wore lederhosen). The restaurant was very nice and although it was on the pricey side it was well worthwhile. The food was really good and the restaurant was warm so that alone was worth it. Then we split up into groups for the afternoon. One group went to the Munich Christmas markets and a medieval market for food and general shopping as well as a look around Munich's city centre whilst the second group went to the BMW museum. The BMW museum went beyond expectations; it was full of cars old and new as well as motorcycles and even some of their older aviation history.
